The Pretty Reckless, The Cruel Knives at O2 Academy Bristol, November 1st 2022

Taylor Momsen walks on to rapturous applause to the sound of a thunderstorm as she makes her way across the stage. This is a sold out event and the noise is quite fitting with most fans having to queue for hours in the rain even with a ticket.

Taylor is towering in her thigh length black boots, leather jacket, flowing blonde hair and thick eyeliner. In fact a large proportion of the audience is similarly dressed. The band break into Death by Rock and Roll and the audience are already in the palm of her hands as she covers the stage and twirls and bends in her well recognised manner. This is the title track of the album released in 2021 and the crowd know what kind of a ride they are in for.

The Since you’re Gone and Only Love Can Save Me Now are similarly strong tracks, the former from the Light me Up album and the latter being from the latest album.
The crowd favourite Make me Wanna Die gets the strongest reaction from the crowd tonight. Taylor announces the next song was the most requested through her social media and lays down Just Tonight.
My Medicine and Going to Hell gather further response and Heaven Knows and Take Me Down seal the performance.
As the band re-emerege for F’d Up World containing an impressive drum solo it seems like the crowd has witnessed something special. Superb lighting and sound quality along with Taylor’s pure exuberance and show-stopping- show-woman performance really does set The Pretty Reckless apart.

Taylor flirts with the crowd, drapes herself over the drumset , leans into the sea of people and can rile up the audience with a turn of her wrists. This in combination with superb musicianship makes this a night to remember.
