Focus Wales is back for it’s 14th year. This multi venue festival set in the centre of Wrexham takes place from Thursday May 9th until Saturday May 11th. With over 250 live sets, spread around 20 stages in a variety of spaces and music venues, there’s bound to be enough to keep anyone with even the slightest interest in music entertained. Focus Wales 2024 is headlined by Spiritualized, The Mysterines and The Royston Club with some incredible bands making up the rest of the weekend. Others not to be missed include the always brilliant Snapped Ankles, the quirky, indie pop of The Bug Club, Home Counties and the politically charged, incendiary noise of Teesside’s Benefits. A huge part of Focus Wales is to showcase emerging talent, in particular that from Wales. This is what makes this sort of festival so special – you’re very likely to discover your new favourite band(s) in possibly your new favourite venue.
As well as a massive selection of live acts to choose from there’s a series of conference events that will include talks about the music industry and ‘in conversations’ – final details of these to be confirmed.
Festival passes start at just £75 which, considering what’s on offer, is an absolute bargain. Available from http://focuswales.com/tickets/ it’s probably a good idea to grab them while you can.
