Download 2025 is set to electrify the hallowed turf of Donington Park once more this June, promising an unforgettable weekend of rock and metal, with some pop thrown in for good measure!
This year’s lineup is particularly exciting, as all three headliners are making their debut at the top of the bill, adding a fresh dynamic to the festival’s history. Leading the charge is Green Day, the punk rock legends who have never graced the Download stage as headliners before. With their latest album Saviors receiving rave reviews, Downloaders can expect a mix of classic anthems and new hits that embody their rebellious and fun spirit. Green Day’s set is sure to ignite the crowd with energy and nostalgia. Joining them is Sleep Token, the enigmatic masked metal band whose meteoric rise has captivated audiences worldwide. Known for their hauntingly beautiful melodies and viral success on platforms like TikTok, Sleep Token’s performance is bound to be mesmerizing. The announcement sparked a division among the Download community – though which announcement doesn’t? However, with Sleep Token’s remarkable achievement of selling out every headline show they’ve performed, they are undeniably a band worth experiencing. Rounding out the trio is Korn, the nu-metal pioneers celebrating the 30th anniversary of their groundbreaking debut album. Their raw energy and iconic sound have solidified their place as legends in the genre, and their set is sure to be a highlight of the weekend. With over 90 bands on the lineup, including Weezer, Bullet For My Valentine, and Within Temptation, Download 2025 promises to be a celebration of music that caters to every rock and metal fan. For those Downloaders who like their music on the lighter side, don’t forget McFly will headline the Avalanche stage on Friday and Kids in Glass Houses headline there on Sunday, and Vengaboys will be appearing in District X for those who are camping. (Yes, really.) Don’t forget to check out the smaller bands on Avalanche and Dogtooth, too, as there are some real gems on all the stages, and you could very well happen upon your new favourite band. This year’s festival is definitely one not to be missed.
