Bearded Theory 2023 was this reviewer’s favourite festival of the year. Bearded Theory 2024 looks set to raise the bar even higher.
Jane’s Addiction return to play their first UK festival since 2016. Other big highlights of the weekend include Amyl and The Sniffers, Dinosaur Jr, New Model Army, Sleaford Mods and Bob Vylan.
Just as important is the list of bands lower down the bill. Personal favourites include His Lordship, Sprints, English Teacher, The Meffs and the long overdue return to the live scene of Manchester’s LIINES.
This promises to be an amazing weekend of incredible acts and another where the only problem we face will be choosing who to see when the inevitable clashes arise. Food and drink prices are always reasonable, it’s family friendly – the festival even runs an education programme and has the blessing of local schools when parents take their offspring out for the day. Bearded Theory falls early in the festival season and really does set the standard for others to reach. We can’t influence the weather but fingers crossed we get the glorious sunshine we had in 2023.
