Rolla, a popular and up and coming indie rock band from Manchester have a new EP out on Friday, March 7th 2025 and it looks to be a banger. Rolla are certainly influenced by Oasis, but in my opinion, I think they are a better version of Oasis and I can see why they are rising in popularity. Having already toured with Kasabian in 2023, currently preparing for an upcoming Headliner gig at New Century Hall in Manchester, and having recently hosted a fundraiser to save a local music venue, this group is showing how to be a Rock n Roll band, without the diva attitudes.
This album is filled with classic indie rock sounds (I also detected some Prog Rock influences, especially in ‘It Ain’t Easy’) and each are great in their own way. The songs are reminiscent of Kasabian’s earlier music and to me, they feel powerful. My two favourites are ‘We owe you nothing’ and ‘Beautify Lie’. ‘We owe you nothing’ is one of the heavier songs on the EP with a great use of guitars and soaring vocals, whilst ‘Beautify Lie’ is softer music wise, but heavier lyrically with themes of loneliness, a sentiment that many people will find solace in I am sure. To conclude, I can see why Rolla are tipped to have mainstream success in the next year or so, especially if they continue on their current path.
