Long Division Festival returns to Wakefield for its final year.

A highlight of the musical calendar in any year Long Division Festival, which takes place in Wakefield from Friday June 9th until Sunday June 11th with the main event on Saturday June 10th, has announced that this year will be it’s last. Starting up in 2011 the festival has hosted many big names over the years including Billy Bragg, The Cribs, British Sea Power, The Fall, Gang Of Four and Peter Hook & The Light as well as a huge list of artists well known to anyone who has the remotest interest in music that might be described as ‘alternative’. Not only this but it’s almost a guarantee that at some point in the day you will discover your new favourite band. Deadletter, Memes, Ghad Whip last year, The Lounge Society and Low Hummer in ’21, Hello Cosmos and Imperial Wax in 2019. Spread around  8 or 9 venues all within easy walking distance of each other and close to Wakefield city centre it’s certain you will see more than a few bands you’ll love. We’ve said it before – if you don’t see a band you really like at Long Division Festival then, quite possibly, you don’t really like music.

Long Division has it’s heart set firmly in the community and over the year works tirelessly to provide a programme of training events for young people.

This year Long Division will host over 60 bands including the return of favourites such as The Lovely Eggs, The Membranes and Arab Strap and all for a fraction over £40. And in the current climate where the cost of living seems to be spiralling out of control they offer a reduced price ticket at a little over £30 for anyone who might struggle to pay the general admission price.

The venues are great, the Long Division staff brilliant, the bars don’t rip you off and you’re surrounded by people who genuinely appreciate what Long Division offers.

Tickets are running low with just about 100 remaining so grab one while you can HERE.
