Concert Photo of the Year – Open for Submissions

I’m proud to announce that we are now taking submissions for our Concert Photo of the Year.

Below are the rules for this competition/award which we will not deviate. We have managed to get 4 people to Judge the final 50 pictures when the competition closes to entries.

How to Submit 

Email your Photo to submission@weshootmusic.com

  • The Image must be 3000 pixels on the longest side with no Watermark ( unwatermarked image will only be used for judging )
  • To be taken in 2024
  • Not be AI generated 
  • Only 1 photo per Photographer 
  • At least 1 Artist/Band Member in the shot
  • Submissions close on 24th December 2024
  • UK ONLY

Please include the Band/Artist, Venue and Date it was taken in the Email.

The Photos will be looked at and reduced down to a final 50 by The Editor of weshootmusic, Philip Goddard for the judges to look at. Each Photo will be given it’s own number with no reference to Photographer who took it, meaning that the Judging is 100% impartial.

The Final 50 images will be marked out of 10 for three categories……. Presentation, Impact and Composition 

Presentation = Editing and Technical things such as Focusing and Noise etc

Impact = Atmosphere and Artistic Effect

Composition = Angles, Cropping and Photo Clutter ( eg Mic covering mouth )

Kevin Nixon – Rock Photographer 

Becky Baldwin – Bass for Fury and Mercyful Fate

Derek Forbes – Bass formerly of Simple Minds, Propaganda and Big Country 

Please note that everyone involved in this is doing this voluntarily. Please make the process as simple and stress free as possible for us by reading the rules.
