Chesney Hawkes, best known for the pop hit “The One and Only” has just released a new single ‘LOUD!’ from his upcoming album “Living Arrows”.
Chesney Hawkes is known as a one hit wonder, (despite releasing several albums over the years), due to the songs never quite reaching the same levels of success. However, this upcoming album will feature twelve new songs and alongside this, he is also about to embark on a tour with James Blunt across Europe.
Upon my first listen, LOUD! looks to be a promising single. Of course, it is rather cheesy and at first, I really wasn’t too sure, but it is quite an ear worm. Chesney Hawkes has been working with the Producer and Song-Writer Jake Gosling (One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Paloma Faith and other popular artists) on this new album and I can certainly hear the modern influence. However, this song is still reminiscent of the nineties, which I think will help its popularity and help introduce his work to the new generation.
This song mentions loss and other melancholic themes, but I also sense some motivation in the lyrics and I believe it will be a popular hit, especially when performing live.
Overall, I did enjoy the song and think the relatable lyrics and catchy tune will do well, and considering that many of the tour dates are sold out, this could help continue Chesney Hawkes career in the public eye.
