THE BLACK STAR RIDERS are in the midst of their 10th anniversary tour, forming in 2012 when singer RICKY WARWICK and guitarist SCOTT GORHAM put together this THIN LIZZY spin off band, creating new music but with a familiar sound.
Joining them on this tour are even more rock royalty, MOTORHEAD guitarist PHIL CAMPBELL with his 3 sons Todd, Dane and Tyla and new singer Joel making up THE BASTARD SONS. I think everyone will agree its always a treat to hear ACE OF SPADES…. R.I.P LEMMY.
HANOI ROCKS flamboyant MICHAEL MONROE was entertaining, I was never quite sure whether he was going to fall off stage, hit someone with his mic or something even more epic… Totally wild but brilliant nonetheless, he even joined BSR on stage for TONIGHT THE MOONLIGHT LET ME DOWN, a track from 2019 album ANOTHER STATE OF Grace.
BSR have had a few changes in the band but recent member SAM WOOD (WAYWARD SONS) is a great addition on guitar and really gels well with singer RICKY.
WRONG SIDE OF PARADISE is their latest album which includes a cover of THE OSMONDS CRAZY HORSES, a song I never cared for in the past but this version rocks. SCOTT GORHAM joins the set from ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE onwards and we also get to hear them play THIN LIZZYS DON’T BELIEVE A WORD and JAILBREAK which sounded fantastic.
All the bands were outstanding and it was a really good night of music and entertainment.
